Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that selecting a home entertainment system can be a confusing event. Therefore we have attempted to anticipate some of your initial questions and concerns, and have addressed them in this area. If you do not find your answer here, please contact us. We are here to assist you.

Q. When is the best time to contact us to discuss your audio/video needs?

A. The sooner the better. Contacting us during the planning stages is best. Ideally, we have already met with you and planned out system layout and equipment location prior to electrical work beginning. This also gives us an opportunity to work directly with the key persons in the building/remodeling process to ensure that any special requirements or needs are met.

Q. Where is the best location for my speakers to be installed?

A. Each room installation varies from customer to customer, and room to room. When we meet with our customers on site, our recommendations will be based on the following elements:

1. Size of the room and ceiling height

2. How the system is going to be used in the room (i.e. background music, multi-use listening, critical music listening)

3. How the room is, or is going to be, furnished (i.e. rugs, hardwood floors, window and wall treatments)

Q. What is the difference between a "multi-room" sound system and a "multi-zone" sound system?

A. A term "multi-room" generally implies that a system is only capable of playing a single source at a time in multiple rooms. For example, it is not possible for Mom to listen to the radio in the kitchen while the kids watch a movie in the home theater, etc. "Multi-zone" refers to a system where each room (or group of rooms) can select its own source independent of the others. For example, Dad would be able to listen to a CD in the study while Mom listens to the radio in the kitchen, and the kids watch a movie in the home theater.

Q. Can I control the volume in each location?

A. Yes, we have units to control volume at the central location of your equipment or in each room.

Q. Is it possible to control source functions like play, stop, and next disk to control my CD player?

A. Yes, the possibilities are endless. It all depends on your system budget and needs
